Our Staff: Meet Dr. Credo
Our Philosophy
A native of New Orleans, Dr. Lisa Credo has been caring for breastfeeding families for many years. She is a graduate of Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame in Indiana. She earned her MD at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed a General Pediatrics residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences before specializing in Breastfeeding Medicine. She holds board certifications in both General Pediatrics and Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine (NABBLM-C). Dr. Credo is also a board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC).
Since 2015, Dr. Credo has worked with The Gift, a breastfeeding quality initiative and designation program of the Louisiana Department of Health - Bureau of Family Health, to train health care providers on breastfeeding best practices. She is a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) and the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding & Lactation Education (IABLE). She has represented Louisiana at the United States Breastfeeding Committee and has served on the Steering Committee of the Louisiana Breastfeeding Coalition since 2016.
Dr. Credo is a founding member of the Capital Area Breastfeeding Alliance (CABA) in Baton Rouge and also served two terms as CABA President from 2016-2020. She has actively participated in many local breastfeeding initiatives through advocacy, community outreach and education, and she has volunteered for many years at local support groups, both hospital-based and community-based.
